1. Introduction
Welcome to Business Attendance. We take your privacy seriously and want to be straight with you about how it works. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it and how we protect it, whether you’re a Chapter Leader or a Member.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run attendance and presentations for your chapter.
- Identity data: name, BNi chapter role (President, Vice President and so on) and professional affiliation.
- Contact data: email and phone number, used only for notifications and attendance confirmations.
- Meeting data: attendance records, substitute names and presentation content (Spotlight PDFs or images, Educational Moment slides).
- Technical data: IP addresses, browser type and usage patterns, used to keep the platform stable and secure.
3. How we use your information
Your data is only used to run your BNi chapter meetings:
- Attendance automation: sending confirmation requests and powering real-time dashboards for the leadership team.
- Presentation generation: filling meeting slides with your name, role and uploaded content.
- Notifications: reminders about upcoming meetings or upload deadlines.
- Platform improvement: looking at how features get used so we can make them better for every chapter.
4. Data sharing and disclosure
We don’t sell your personal data. Your information is only shared in these cases:
- Within your chapter: your attendance status and uploaded presentation materials are visible to your chapter’s leadership team and members during the meeting.
- Service providers: we use trusted third-party services (such as email delivery and cloud hosting) that meet strict data-protection standards.
- Legal requirements: if the law requires it, we may disclose information to comply.
5. Data security
We use standard security practices to keep your data from being lost, misused or accessed without permission.
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Access to your data is limited to employees and partners who have a business reason to see it.
- Our “one-tap” confirmation system is built to be convenient without putting your account at risk.
6. Your rights and control
You’re in control of your own data inside Business Attendance:
- Access & correction: you can update your profile and attendance details whenever you like.
- Data portability: leadership teams can export attendance reports for official BNi Global reporting.
- Account deletion: ask your Chapter President or our support team. We anonymise your account so it can no longer identify you or be used to sign in. We do not erase the record itself: meeting history the chapter relies on, and the events and presentations you created for it, stay with the chapter. If you belong to more than one chapter, this happens once you have left them all.
7. When you leave a chapter
When a Chapter President removes you, they choose one of two outcomes. You can ask which one was applied to you.
- Kept as a former member: your name, email, phone, company and industry stay in that chapter's Visitors list, clearly marked as a former member, so the chapter can still reach you for referrals. Your contact card keeps working, but only for signed-in members of that chapter rather than anyone holding the link. This entry is kept until someone deletes it. There is no automatic expiry.
- Removed entirely: no entry is kept in Visitors and your account is anonymised as described above.
Either way, you stop receiving every chapter notification from the moment you are removed. If an entry was kept and you would rather it was not, ask your Chapter President or us and we will delete it.
8. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies. Essential cookies make the site work and are always on. Optional cookies are used only if you allow them, and none is set before you do. You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer of our public pages.
- Keeps you signed in. If you don't tick Remember me, it ends when you close your browser.

ba_consent· Essential · 6 months - Remembers which link or campaign first brought you to us, so we can see what helps chapters find us. It holds only the campaign name, never personal details. If you then send us a chapter request, we save that campaign with your request.

We also count visits to some public pages, such as our product comparisons, and clicks on their sign-up buttons. These counts are anonymous: they set no cookie and store nothing on your device, and we record only the page, the button and the time, never your IP address or who you are. Because nothing identifies you, they are counted whatever your cookie choice.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may change as our practices evolve or for legal reasons. If we make a meaningful change, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date.
